Download reportThe Water and Waste Water Maintenance Department is responsible for all waterworks outside the water and sewer plants. They provide 24/7 emergency response, manage new water and sewer connections, repair breaks, extend and upgrade lines, and conduct fire hydrant flushing to ensure the system operates safely and efficiently. In case of leaks, low pressure, discoloration, clogs, broken lines, or sewage smell, contact the department at 304-872-5828 to request attention. In case of emergency, contact the department by calling Nicholas County Central Communications at 304-872-7814.
The City of Summersville Water Plant has been serving the community since 2004. As a regional water treatment facility, the plant currently operates at approximately 45% of its capacity, providing ample room to meet future growth and increased demand.The plant draws its water from Summersville Lake and the Gauley River, which provide an excellent source of clear, high-quality water. Our experienced staff takes great pride in maintaining high standards and providing safe, reliable drinking water to the customers and communities we serve.
The City of Summersville Sewage Treatment Plant has been serving the community since 2009. Designed with environmentally responsible treatment practices in mind, the facility uses a chemical-free treatment process and ultraviolet (UV) technology as part of its operations.The plant emphasizes sustainable practices, utilizing biodegradable processes while providing reliable wastewater treatment for the community and helping protect our local environment and waterways.
