Forestry Council

Caring for Summersville's public trees

The Forestry Council supports the care and long-term management of trees and green spaces in public areas. Its work helps the City plan for planting, maintenance, preservation, and responsible removal.

Planning and stewardship

• Developing and updating the City's tree plan.
• Providing guidance on planting, pruning, and tree care.
• Supporting implementation of the City's Tree Ordinance.
• Overseeing tree work in parks, along streets, and on other public sites.

Working with the City

The Council's planning and recommendations help coordinate tree care with the needs of public spaces. Residents can ask the City for guidance about a public tree or for help locating the applicable tree information before undertaking work.

Members and contact
