SPD Officer Profiles

Eddie O'Dell Captain S.E. O'Dell:  I began my law enforcement career with the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department as a Process Server, and then as a correction officer in the jail facility.  I graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy in '85 and since then have served with the Summersville Police Department where I have been able to climb thru the ranks to my current position of Captain.  From June 2003 until March 2006 I also served as the Assistant Chief of Police.

  Seargent Tim Blake:  I am a graduate of Glenville State College and have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.  I was hired by the Summersville Police Department in October of 2001.  I graduated from the West Virginina State Police Academy in August 2002.  In 2007 I received the "Award for Public Service", from tthe United States Department of Justice.  In September of 2010, I was made the Detective for the Summersville Police Department and remain in that position today.

Sgt. Jason Lanham: I have been with the Summersville Police Department since February of 1997 after graduating from the West Virginia State Police Academy.  I have risen to the rank of Sergeant with the force while also acting  as a firearms instructor.

Ofc. Aaron AcreeCorporal Aaron S. Acree: I started my employment with the City of Summersville on June 19th, 2000 working for the Municipal Water Department.  I was hired as an officer on the Police Force in October, 2001, and then graduated form the West Virginia State Police Academy in August, 2001.  I am currently on the Multi-Disciplinary Task Force, providing support to children who have been sexually abused.

Jacob Casey

 Jacob Casey: I was hired by the Summersville Police Department on June 4, 2007.  Prior to being hired by the Summersville Police Department I was employed by the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.
